Haiti - PAPJAZZ 2018: The International Jazz Festival in concert in Jacmel

As part of the 12th edition of the International Jazz Festival (PAPJAZZ 2018) the city of Jacmel shared the Festival's programming this year, thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Section of the American Embassy in Port-au-Prince.

Wednesday, January 24, the tourist port of Jacmel hosted an unforgettable concert with the young singer Jenny Joassaint aka "Jenny J" and his band and the American singer Loide Rosa Jorge.

Born from the Dessaix Baptiste School of Music in Jacmel, Jenny Joassaint and her band seduced the many numerous pubic jazz amateur came to this concert. In front of a large audience, she sang an interpretation of "Redemption song" (by Bod Marley), "La Peson'n" (by Boulo Valcourt) and a song of which she is the author, supported by excellent combinations of solos of his percussionists. Note that "Jenny J" is expected in Port-au-Prince this Friday to participate in the FOKAL discovery stage at 4:00 pm.

As for the American singer Loide Rosa Jorge, in addition to addressing the public in Creole with an above-average accent, she was able to mix the music of her voice with the pleasant sensation of the breeze coming from the Ocean to enthrall assistance concluding his performance with a Haitian folklore: Sole [Solé] who ignited the audience.
