As part of the 6th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, Uruguay 2018, 8 teams will compete in the 3rd phase of the playoffs that will be played in Nicaragua from 19 to 29 April 2018 at the National Stadium of Managua, to represent the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) at the next U-17 World Cup (November 13 - December 1, 2018).

In addition to the host country Nicaragua, the other 7 participating teams are: United States, Canada, Mexico (qualifying as official) for North America, Costa Rica (UNCAF champion), Haiti (champion of the Caribbean) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22481-haiti-flash-our-grenadieres-win-the-2017-caribbean-cup.html , Puerto Rico and Bermuda (the other two best teams in the Caribbean).

Defending champion of the U-17 Women's Caribbean Cup, our Grenadières, in Group A, now know their opponents, following the draw held in Miami in January 2018.

In group A, our Grenadières will face Nicaragua, Mexico and Puerto Rico. In principle at U15 level; our girls are very familiar with the Mexicans who beat them two years ago at the U-15 championship at the Concacaf Orlando. It will be a meeting that may be very difficult because Mexico has played a lot of preparation matches around the world. This defeat against the Mexicans in U-15 should challenge us all as Nicaragua, which has made great progress, plays at home and will be supported by a whole people.

In addition to Mexico and Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, which had made our girls suffer at the stadium before bowing, will certainly give a lot of trouble to our young Grenadières, Shek Borkowsky having strengthened his team and especially he knows well our players...
