Haiti - Music : Exhibition of artists «Kalfou Richès» not to be missed

Starting Wednesday, February 7 in Port-au-Prince, in the perimeter of the National Palace and the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH) will be held the exhibition "I remember..." (Je me souviens...) portraits of some great figures and groups having marked Haitian music from 1940 to the present day, works of 8 painters from the precarious neighborhoods of the metropolitan area, grouped together within the movement "Kalfou Richès Ayiti".

From Dodof Le Gros to Baricad Crew via Coupé Cloué and Ti Manno, this exhibition brings together 40 paintings and more than a fifty portraits (figurative, classics reproduced) of these great composers and musical groups.

It is a duty of memory to inform and educate, that of allowing the rising generation to discover some of these great composers, singers, arrangers, orchestrators who have enriched our musical heritage during these last 75 years: the birth of konpa dirèk and its evolution until the 80s and the contributions of the movements root / folkloric / troubadour / Afro-jazz and hip-hop to the Haitian musical heritage.

This exhibition is especially the meeting of several generations of musicians who have established themselves in the musical landscape and have made the glory and pride of our country around the world. Testimony of our gratitude to these musicians who made dance, sing Haiti and the world. The exhibition will also pay tribute to great composers, performers who have been missing for the past two years.
