Haiti - Japan : Official remittance of the CSC Beraca of Thomazeau

Tuesday, under the Health component of the Japanese Cooperation, the Japanese Ambassador to Haiti, Yoshiaki Hatta, in the presence of Rosemard Alexis, President of the Peasant Union for the Development of Source Sable Santo and of its Surroundings (UPDSSE) , local authorities and members of the community, proceeded to the official presentation of the project "Improvement of Community Health Center (CCS) Beraca of Thomazeau".

Achieved under the Assistance Program in the form of Donations to Local Micro-Projects contributing to Human Security (APL) and following the signing of the grant contract on November 10, 2016 between the Embassy and the UPDSSE https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19202-haiti-japan-signing-of-2-donations-contracts-for-over-150-000-dollars.html , the project received funding of US $80,836.00 for the construction of a building comprising two consultation rooms, two observation rooms, a laboratory, a pharmacy, an archive room, a waiting gallery and a block health. The newly constructed Community Health Center will meet the basic health care needs of the commune and its surroundings.

In his remarks, the Ambassador of Japan to Haiti stressed that this inauguration was a testimony of Japan's commitment and the solidarity of the Japanese people to support the strengthening of the system of basic health services in Haiti in its process of sustainable development.
