On Thursday in Port-de-Paix, the First Lady Martine Moïse participated in the Celebration of the International Women's Day, which took place in the presence of Eunide Innocent, the Minister for the Status of Women, Stéphanie Auguste the Minister of Social Affairs, of Dr. Agabus Joseph, Director General of the Office of Occupational Accidents Insurance, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA), of Arielle Villedrouin the Director of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBERS), Senator Dieudonne Luma Étienne, Local Representatives, Diplomatic Representatives and International Organizations, several representatives of Northwestern women's organizations and community leaders.

Martine Moïse presented plaques of honor to 3 North West women: Marie Annaïse Fertil Jean, Solange Brave Saturné and Hermione Cher-Aimé Tassy for their commitment to the fight for gender equality and respect for women's rights and girls in the department.

During this ceremony embellished with some artistic performances of the National Theater, the Deputy Mayor of the Commune, Yanick Agénor carried the grievances of the women of the North-West through the reading of a declaration of commitment of the community leaders for the respect for the rights of women and girls and gender equality.

The First Lady said she was determined to continue the struggle for equality between women and men and advocated against violence against women "Vyolans sou fanm...
