Eugène Branly, the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture of Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) received last week a delegation of the Directorate General of Budget of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), around the question of budget reform.

The MEF's approach was to make a presentation on the program budget approach for the heads of the entities of the Ministry of Agriculture and on other hand to inform about the progress in public finance reform, to facilitate a better understanding of the process and its implications and to provide details on the timetable, including perspectives on the implementation of the program. In the discussions that followed the presentation of the MEF on the budget, several executives expressed their concerns and made recommendations regarding the monitoring of the budget program.

This meeting brought together representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), representatives of the MEF as well as executives of the (MARNDR).

At the end of this meeting, Eugène Branly said he would like a satisfactory appropriation by all the senior staff of his Ministry in order to facilitate the implementation in the best conditions of the program-budget approach, for the achievement of priority objectives assigned by the Government.
