As part of the Panama-Haiti National Cooperation Plan, the Agricultural Research Institute (IDIAP) has invited a delegation from the Government of Haiti to evaluate the results of bilateral cooperation in the pilot experiment of non-sterile bio-fortified seeds (Bio enriched) of corn and rice delivered in Haiti to support the recovery of the agricultural sector and strengthen cooperation programs in this area https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-21777-icihaiti-agriculture-new-donation-of-bio-enriched-seeds-of-panama.html

The delegation was led by former Minister of Agriculture Carmel André Beliar who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Panama to Haiti, Xiomara Pérez

Deputy Minister Luis Miguel Hincapié and the Director General of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Selina Baños presented a progress report of the pilot project that measures the performance of IDIAP compared to native seeds of Haiti.

In the light of the positive results, the former Minister Beliard and Director Baños agreed to take steps to formalize the framework cooperation agreement signed in 2014 and to strengthen existing programs through expanded cooperation with other strategic partners.
