Haiti - Tourism : PM evaluation tour for the enhancement of certain monuments

Saturday a delegation led by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, composed of Colombe Emilie Jessy Menos the Minister of Tourism, Guy André Francois Junior, the New Minister of the Diaspora (MHAVE) and Patrick Durandis the Director General of the Institute of Safeguarding the National Heritage (lSPAN) has carried out a tour of inspection and evaluation of several historical sites with tourism potential : the Forts Jacques and Alexandre in Kenscoff, the Palace with 365 doors at the Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite, the Fort Décidé and the Poudrière to the Fort La Source, to Dessalines.

The purpose of these visits was to finalize the evaluations for the implementation of the tourist enhancement works of these heritages and the establishment of the system of management and control of the historic sites with tourist potential in Haiti.

"A people without history, it is a people without memory. In history, Haiti is a unique country, it has monuments that many countries would like to have. We Haitian people we must be proud, we must love our country, we must have a vision for our country [...] we will see how we can restore and manage these sites, to exploit them," said Prime Minister Lafontant .
