This morning shortly after 4am, a slight earthquake was felt in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince (Carrefour, Delmas, Leogane ...). In some neighborhood the inhabitants have panicked and left their home for the street.

The magnitude and location of this aftershock is not known at present (see update below) and has not been reported by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), while it appears on the seismographs of the Collège Catts Pressoir and of Lycée Alexandre Dumas (French lycée).

At the moment the civil protection has not reported any damage or casualties.

UPDATE USGS : An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale was felt yesterday morning March 1st at 4h14 and 20 seconds. The epicenter was located 10.5 km deep, it is located between Grand Goâve and Léogâne. Either 39 km West-Southwest of Port-au-Prince, 115 km East of Les Cayes, 117 km South of the Gonaives.
