In a video posted on her Facebook page, the First Lady of the Republic of Haiti Martine Moïse asks a favor to Her Majesty the Queen consort of Spain Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, who arrives in Haiti tomorrow Tuesday, May 22 after her stay in Dominican Republic.

Text of the message of Martine Moïse :

"Very honorable Queen Letizia,

A few days before your visit to our beautiful country, I want to express from the bottom of my heart on behalf of the Haitian people, my great joy to welcome you to our home. It will be an honor to receive you, however brief your passage may be.

Queen Letizia, as First Lady of the Republic of Haiti, I take the liberty to ask you in advance a huge favor, help us to change the image of our country abroad, together let us show all countries of the planet, that Haiti is filled with people who are proud of their origin, of their history, their culture.

Haiti, the first independent black republic, is a land of freedom, it is here that human rights and individual liberties were born.

Haiti can no longer be a humanitarian destination. We are a people of faith, pride, love, hope and resilience unlike any other.

Haiti the land of opportunity, hospitality, the magical land already wishes you welcome."
