Haiti - Security : A Mayor disappeared for more than 72 hours !

The Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) is concerned about the disappearance of the main Mayor of the Commune of Estère, Senèque Estimable. According to information gathered, he was last seen on the morning of Wednesday, May 23 before leaving Estère presumably in the direction of the capital. Since then, the family, relatives and sympathizers of the City Councilor have no news of the latter.

As soon informed of this situation, the Minister of the Interior immediately informed the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) of facts. An investigation was immediately opened to find the Mayor Estimable as soon as possible. At the same time, a mission of the MICT went to Estère in the context of this affair.

In addition, the Ministry of the Interior takes advantage to launch a call for calm to the residents of the Commune of Estère which, in reaction to this previously unexplained disappearance, ransacked public buildings.

In these circumstances, the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities invites all persons with information likely to help shed light on this issue, to inform local authorities as soon as possible.
