Haiti - FLASH : Spoliation operations in an ecological reserve in Kenscoff

The Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), condemns the spoliation operations that have been carried out for some time at the farm "Wynne Farm" an ecological reserve in Kenscoff.

The Foundation calls on the authorities to take steps as soon as possible to restore order in order to avoid the transformation of this reserve into a new and vast slum, which will have a negative impact on the ecology of the area and catastrophic consequences for the Port-au-Prince watershed and surrounding areas, especially during the rainy season.

Recall that the "Wynne Farm" an important ecological reserve created in Morne Tranchant, Obleon, in the Kenscoff area has been doing a positive work against deforestation for more than 50 years and is an experimental center for students and researchers working in the field of agronomy and the environment https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17287-haiti-environment-total-haiti-will-plant-20-000-trees.html

Today "Wynne Farm" is once again threatened by new "affairistes" who want to destroy this rare ecological farm in Haiti to build their homes. The farm is therefore the subject of illegal land sale, grabbing by armed men, invasion and destruction...

FOLONHA encourages the state to intervene to protect this space before it is too late.
