Haiti - Bon Repos : A market to clear sidewalks and public roads

As part of its policy of freeing sidewalks and public streets from merchants, trestles and other bulky objects that hinder the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, causing traffic jams and representing an element of insecurity for the lives of residents, merchants and passers-by, the Municipal Council of Croix-des-Bouquets, tackles the problem of the presence of merchants on the sidewalks of the streets of Bon Repos.

Before removing these merchants from sidewalks and public roads, the Town Hall of Croix-des-Bouquets, identified a space and initiated work for the construction and development of a public market, which will be called "Mache Pasyans" , located at the entrance of Corail / Cesselesse main road, on the national road #3.

In order to inform and educate merchants who illegally and anarchically occupy the public road, of this street clearance operation, a publicity spot is broadcast in the media and also on a sound vehicle that circulates daily in the various arteries of the places targeted by this operation.

As soon as the market is finished, all the merchants from the Bon Repos area will be invited to leave the streets. The Mucipal Council solicits the understanding of the merchants in the framework of this decision which aims more at their interests and their protection "Lari se pou machin, trotwa pou pyeton, mache pou machann."
