Haiti - Elections : 5 candidates support Martelly

5 candidates of the group of 12 calling for the cancellation of the elections of November 28, have in a note decided to support the candidacy of Joseph Michel Martelly for the next election to be held Sunday, March 20, 2011.

These are BIJOU Josette "Independent" representing in the first round (preliminary results) 10,782 votes either 1%, CHARLES Eric Smarcki "Parti de l'Evolution Nationale Haïtienne (PENH)" (2,597 votes / 0.24%), JEUDY Wilson "Fòs 2010" (6,076 votes / 0.57%), JOSEPH Génard "Groupement Solidarité" (9,164 votes / 0.85%) and JEUNE Jean Chavannes "Alliance chrétienne citoyenne pour la reconstruction d'Haïti (ACCRHA)" (19.348 votes / 1.80%).

Today we, former presidential candidates, Dr Josette Bijou, Eric Smarcki Charles, Jean Chavannes Jeune, Wilson Jeudy and Genard Joseph.

Facing the conspiracy of November 28, 2010, we continue to believe that the best solution for democracy in the country would have been to cancel the masquerade that took place that day.

However when we consider that the Haitian people in all departments has accepted to go to elections because one made them understand that this is the only condition so that it can leave misery and from under the tents where it is since January 12, 2010.

When we consider the sprit of openness that the candidate Joseph Michel Martelly expressed and its program, it seems to us more apt to establish, with him and beside him the democracy, one of the conditions of the sustainable development of the country and this without demagogy.

Us, leaders consequent, who have for only ambition the change of the conditions of life of the population, today we also have the responsibility to guide the people so that it takes the best way possible.

This is why, us former presidential candidates, who have affixed our signatures to this statement, have decided to support the candidacy of Joseph Michel Martelly for the next election to be held Sunday, March 20, 2011.

For this, we ask all our partisans and sympathizers in every nook and cranny of the country to get out and vote en masse so that Joseph Michel Martelly become the fifty-sixth president as soon as the first hour on Sunday, March 20.

The watchword is : "Pray, Vote, Watch ! Enough is enough ! The conspiracy will not pass this time!"
