Mirlande Manigat expressed her confidence in the election of this coming Sunday, "I am fully satisfied with the way my campaign progresses" she said to the press Monday. The candidate Manigat said, do not be concerned by the results of the recent polls, that give the advantage to the opponent. Mirlande Manigat launched an appeal to voters to vote in large numbers on March 20.

In addition, Mirlande Manigat welcomed the support of several organizations of the education sector and has announced on Monday the support of the current Minister of Culture and Communication, Marie Laurence Jocelyn Lassègue. Ms. Lassègue who asked the Prime Minister and President René Préval a layoff from March 14 to 18 in order to serve the campaign of Mirlande Manigat, is a founding member of the women's organization "Fan m yo la". The Minister said that this decision aims a broad participation of women within the political affairs of the country.
