Haiti - Justice : Week dedicated to the fight against corruption

As part of the project "Access to justice and the fight against impunity in Haiti" (AJULIH), carried out with the support of the Government of Canada through Global Affairs, Lawyers Without Borders Canada (LWBC) organizes a week focused on the theme of corruption. Various Haitian and Canadian experts will have the opportunity to debate and share their knowledge in this area to strengthen the capacity of lawyers, judges and representatives of civil society organizations.

With this international event LWBC aims to strengthen the protection and implementation of the rights of people in vulnerable situations, including women, minors and detainees.

Tuesday at the Karibe Hotel (Pétion-ville), a round table organized by "Together Against Corruption" (Ensemble Contre la Corruption - ECC) a group of several organizations of the Haitian civil society, in partnership with CBSA will allow several national and international experts to deal with various issues related to the fight against corruption. There will then be an open microphone to allow participants to ask questions and enrich the debate.

Wednesday at the Kinam Hotel (Pétion-ville) will begin a 3-day training, organized in partnership with the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince. The objective of this training is to strengthen the capacity of lawyers, magistrates and representatives of civil society organizations in the fight against corruption and prosecution of corruption offenses before the national courts.
