Following the publication on Monday of a list by Clamé-Ocman Daméus the Commissioner of the Government of Port-au-Prince of 36 companies including several Dominicans, targeted by a request to close their bank account in Haiti as a precautionary measure in the alleged framework of fund manipulation in the PetroCaribe program, the Dominican Company "Constructora Mar" #24 in the list specifies in a press release appeared in the Dominican press in order to prevent these allegations tarnish its reputation with its customers :

"[...] In view of the news published in the Haitian media, concerning the request of the prosecutor of Port-au-Prince, Haiti to investigate and freeze the bank accounts of 36 companies related to the realization of works with PetroCaribe program funds in this country, the company states the following :

Constructora Mar did not carry out any work in the Republic of Haiti related to the PetroCaribe program, nor any work for any ministry of that Nation related to the reconstruction of that country. We do not have operations in Haiti. Therefore, there is no legal proceeding against our company or any notification in this regard. [...]"

It should be noted that this company does not appear in the list of 134 companies that received PetroCaribes funds to carry out work in Haiti.
