Haiti - FLASH : Deputy Director of CAS seriously injured by bullets

Wednesday afternoon on Christophe Avenue, after making a withdrawal from a bank, while he was driving with two other passengers, Elionor Dévalon, Deputy Director of the Social Assistance Fund (CAS) was victim of armed aggression by four individuals riding motorbikes in front of the premises of the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Disputes (CSA/CA)

Despite he not opposed any resistance and handed over the money from the bank to the bandits, they opened fire on the vehicle before fleeing, according to one of the passengers, seriously injuring Dévalon in the face, to the belly and on the shoulder. He was rushed to hospital for surgery.

Roodly Simon, CAS Executive Director, calls for the perpetrators of this cowardly aggression to be identified and arrested for justice. Note that Me James Saint-Jean, the Justice of Peace that wrote the report on the scene of the tragedy, refers to an assassination attempt.
