Haiti - Social : Launch of the 2018 edition of «Youth Weekend» in the North-West

Saturday, December 8 at the Immaculate Mary Park in Port-de-Paix, Edwing Charles the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), through the Directorate of Youth and Integration (DJI), proceeded to launch of the 2018 edition of "Youth Weekend" with the participation of more than 400 young people.

Supervised by the Ministry's technicians and youth workers, the young people spent the day enjoying themselves by participating in sports workshops, traditional games and also attending awareness and training sessions on environmental themes, entrepreneurship, community life, leadership, the fight against violence and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD).

For Minister Charles, this is an activity aimed at promoting youth in general and supporting vulnerable young people in particular who face difficulties of all kinds across the country, telling young people "You can to become everything you want in life, if you apply yourself to your training."

This initiative, which offers young people the opportunity to develop their talents, will extend until the end of January. Charles announced that after the North West, the extension of this activity in the other departments of the country will take place in the coming days.

During this day, the Minister participated with enthusiasm in the games and activities of the various workshops in order to instill his knowledge and share his experiences with these young people called to take over.

This first "Youth Weekend" ended with a walk bringing together Minister Charles and all the young people to Parc Capois la mort for a short visit of this sports infrastructure.
