Haiti - Politic : The Government announces the end of the traditional seal for Haitian VISAS

Friday, Jean-Marie Reynaldo Brunet Minister of the Interior and Bocchit Edmond, the Minister of External Affairs have announced new provisions to standardize the issuance of visas for Haiti issued at the level of consular posts. As part of a pilot project, the seals initially affixed as entry visas will be replaced by visas in the form of standardized and secure stickers.

It should be noted that in the pilot phase 4 countries will be concerned : Cuba, Colombia, Panama and the Dominican Republic, these measures reinforce those already taken previously concerning these countries.

In addition to the physical uniformity, a single price will be applied to the issue of these visas at the level of all the consular posts, the amount of which has not yet been definitively fixed.

In addition, the two Ministers signed a memorandum of understanding to harmonize the reports of the immigration officers posted at the level of the Haitian Diplomatic Missions abroad with the heads of these consular posts which come under the responsibility of Chancellery. This protocol also aims to significantly improve the process of issuing passports at the various consular posts.
