Haiti - Culture : Measures for pre-carnival Sundays in Port-au-Prince

The pre-carnival Sunday in Port-au-Prince will take place on January 13, 20 and 27 and on February 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2019.

In order to allow the success of the 7 pre-Carnival Sundays, the Port-au-Prince municipal administration informs the general public and the participants in particular of the following measures:

1 - Access roads to Lalue from Martin Luther King Avenue to Oswald Durand will be closed to all vehicles and motorcycles from 2:00 pm

List of roads concerned: Rue Robin; Carlstroem Street; Bern Street; North Alexis Street; Jérémie Street; 1st street Jérémie; 2nd street Jérémie; Christian Lane; Impasse Lavaud; Dufort Street; Christophe Avenue; Merchant Post; Rue Capois and Rue Lamarre;

2 - No wheelbarrow will be allowed to circulate in the middle of the activities;

3 - Prohibition to circulate with a firearm or a knife (knife, machete, spades...) or any other objects that could hurt people;

4 - Prohibit merchants from selling drinks in glass bottles. Only drinks in plastic bottles and cans are allowed for sale.

The municipal administration of Port-au-Prince invites all participants in these pre-carnival activities, to respect these measures so that these Sundays festivities be a total success.

Anyone who does not respect these measures will be arrested and handed over to the courts for rights.
