This week, Prime Minister Jean-Henry Céant, Ronell Gilles, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Tessa Jacques, the Director General of the Center for Investment Facilitation (CFI) and the holders of the ministries and agencies involved in the process of business creation and private investment, signed a letter of intent initiating a partnership with the CFI for the implementation of the Single Window of Investment (GUI) whose offices were inaugurated last February 2018 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23442-haiti-economy-inauguration-of-a-single-window-at-sonapi.html

This GUI aims to modernize the processes of creation and installation of companies in Haiti, through a computer platform, under the responsibility of the CFI. This platform will interconnect all actors (administrations and institutions) involved in the process of registration and installation of companies and will help simplify and accelerate administrative procedures, to reduce the time and cost of processing of the investment file, improve the transparency and traceability of the different steps of each investment case and finally secure the process and integration of documents.

Let's recall that Haiti is ranked 182nd out of 189 countries for "attractiveness" in terms of investment and last on the business creation indicator of Doing Business 2019 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26003-haiti-flash-doing-business-2019-haiti-in-the-top-10-worst-countries.html

Doing Business 2019 also shows that one of the best practices adopted by more than 50 countries around the world is the establishment of Single Windows dedicated to business creation and private investment, which has allowed some countries improve their ranking by several dozens of ranks. In other words, faced the international environment and in the Haitian context, progress is needed and we hope it will, a proportional impact.
