Haiti - Technology : The electricity grid Péligre/Port-au-Prince almost completed

As part of the implementation of the national energy policy of Electricity of Haiti (EDH), the French firm « Entreprise d’Électricité et d’Équipements (EEE) », of Group "Vinci Énergies", announced that the rehabilitation works of the high voltage power lines from Péligre to Port-au-Prince in partnership with Haitian firms : "Technique, Industrie, Agriculture, S.A." (TECINA) and "Entreprise de Construction Électro-Mécanique S.A." (ECEM) which involved in the intervention more than 200 Haitian technicians are almost finished and only a few details remain to be finalized.

Recall that this work financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to the tune of $ 23.5 million (end 2014) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12768-haiti-politic-$237m-for-the-rehabilitation-of-the-peligre-transmission-line.html , concerned the modernization of the 115,000-volt, 55-km aerial and underground transmission line. This work included the replacement of cables and all insulators, the reconstruction of 5 km of a double overhead line and the installation of 16 pylons. In addition, the triple circuit (high voltage) Delmas to Lilavois link is underground, including the crossing under the River Grise at a depth of more than 20 meters.

Vivens Métellus, ECEM's Director General Delegate, believes that after these works, the Haitian firms contracted now have the expertise and are able to carry out such work alone without the help of foreign experts.
