The Town Hall of Port-au-Prince communicated the final human assessment of the 4th Sunday of pre-carnival activities (3 February). 45 wounded were registered: 8 by beatings, 13 by stab and 24 wounded various as well as 3 people died by bullets including an agent of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26846-haiti-port-au-prince-pre-carnival-activities-3-dead-and-more-than-30-wounded.html

The mayor deplores the incidents that occurred on Sunday, February 3 at the Champs de Mars where a police officer lost his life and "condemns all these acts of gratuitous violence, destined to distort the carnival activities of their essence as significant for the Haitian culture" and reiterates his commitment to ensure the smooth running of pre-carnival activities.

"The Communal Administration renews its confidence in the PNH responsible for ensuring the safety of carnivals and sends his most cherished thoughts to the family of the police officer sadly murdered."
