Jamaica put administrative arrangements in place, with the Honorary Consul of Jamaica in Port-au-Prince, that will simplify the issuing of multiple-entry visas for the Jamaica

Last month, Cabinet noted that the Honorary Consul is now authorised to issue multiple-entry visas valid for six months to bona fide (good faith) business persons from Haiti.

The announcement was made by Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Daryl Vaz at a recent press briefing.

The steps arise from a July 2010 decision of CARICOM heads of government as a move towards full integration of Haiti into the community. It is also aimed at encouraging increased business between the private sectors of Haiti and Jamaica.
