Tuesday afternoon in the Senate, Senator Jean Renel Sénatus President of the Commission "Justice, Security and National Defense" in a press conference, which often spoke in the past of hidden hands behind the acts of Gangs without ever naming one directly, revealed this time, that the Senator of Artibonite Garcia Delva (Ayiti An Aksyon - AAA) maintained strong relations with the dangerous and much sought after Gang Leader Arnel.

He explained that on March 12, he received a letter from a human rights organization stating that a parliamentarian had been in communications with Arnel several times, stating a phone number. In order to obtain confirmation of these allegations, he indicated that he had asked Carl Murat Cantave, the President of the Senate to intervene with the National Council of Telecommunication (CONATEL) to verify the existence or not of telephone links between Delva and Arnel.

Following this request, he confirmed that he obtained the telephone records between the telephone number of Senator Delva (31 70 22 81) and the telephone number of Gang Leader Arnel (38 54 95 24). He indicated that these records reveal that between February 7 and 22, 2019, no less than 24 calls were made between these two numbers, several of which were more than 10 minutes long, and records indicating the locations where the numbers were was located the two interlocutors at the time of these calls.

Sénatus said he would write to Senator Garcia Delva to be heard by the Justice, Security and National Defense Commission Wednesday, April 24 at 10am in order to shed light on the nature of her relationship with Arnel and to know the substance of those appeals, adding that subsequently the Commission will submit its report to the Senators.
