Haiti - Security : Containers left without inspection the terminal of the port of Lafiteau

The General Administration of Customs (AGD) announces that it has discovered 16 falsified customs slips that allowed the exit of the Port Lafiteau terminal, on April 14th, without authorization and without any inspection of at least 3 containers, carrying goods up to now unidentified.

As part of the investigation at least two people were apprehended Nathan Séide and Alex Jérôme, two employees at the service of Yves Marie Carlile Charles, one of the managers of the terminal of the port of Lafiteau. After hearings Eronce Villard, the Commissioner of the Government ordered their detention accused of falsification of customs slips and to be involved in the diversion of 2 or 3 containers, suspected of containing weapons and ammunition...

Yves Marie Carlile Charles, was invited to the Procuratorate of Port-au-Prince this Wednesday, April 24 by the Commissioner of the Government to provide information on this case...

The AGD's investigation must now determine how many containers have actually been released without controls, who are the owners and recipients, and what is inside, and try to find them...
