Haiti - Security : 21 accidents and 101 victims the past weekend

According to the former Director of the National Ambulance Center, Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian Organization Technical and Operational Services for Accident (STOP-Accidents), during the weekend of April 26 to 28, 2019, 21 road accidents have made 101 victims including 84 injured including a newlywed couple on their wedding day and 17 dead most young people including 2 sisters, their mother and an aunt in the same accident.

Garnel Michel said that these accidents have occurred including to Haut moustique (North-West), Titanyen, Barye Batan (Nò), Delmas 33, Arcahaie, Leogane, Petit-Goave, Carriès and reiterates its appeal to users to be cautious.

This assessment was conducted in partnership with the National Ambulance Center and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of resources, the STOP-Accident organization is unable to monitor the state of health of the wounded, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.
