Haiti - 216th of the Flag : Cultivate the love of the country and the pride of our flag

Friday, as part of the activities to celebrate the 216th of the national flag 1803-2019, at the initiative of the Directorate of Secondary Education on the instructions of the Minister of National Education Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, several conferences-debates were organized across the country around the national bi-color.

These activities, which mobilized hundreds of students through the 10 Departmental Directorates of Education, aimed in a general way to reinforce the sense of civility and patriotism among Haitian schoolchildren.

More specifically, it was intended to encourage high school students to safeguard the ancestral heritage and to encourage them to cultivate the love of the country and make them understand the importance of the Congress of Arcahaie by motivating them to love and to feel proud of their flag.

In the West, the activity took place in the auditorium of the Alexandre Pétion high school where delegations of students from several high schools and schools of the capital took part in this educational conference hosted by renowned social science teachers as Raphael Antoine, around the theme "Flag, symbol of understanding for the development and progress of the Haitian people" and discussed around the question "What to do on the occasion of the 216th anniversary of the creation of the flag so that Haitians can strengthen the desire to live together ?"

Other similar conferences around the same theme were held in parallel in all the other school departments of the country.
