Release of 140 young Haitians

Nearly 140 young people, mostly minors in contravention of the law, have regained their freedom since the launch last year by IMED of the project called "Access to Justice and Protection of Juveniles in Prolonged Pre-Trial detention at CERMICOL, at the civil prison of Port-au-Prince and Croix-des-Bouquets."

MPCE 9th week of strike

The Ministry of Planning employees strike is continuing and is in its 9th week. The cancellation of the 140 appointments recently made by the resigning minister, Jean Claudy Pierre, to the benefit of certain parliamentarians, is one of the strikers' main demands.

Training on the use of drones

10th Biennial Conference of the Caribbean Association of Ombudsmen

The Office of Citizen Protection represented by the Protector of the Citizen, Me Renan Hedouville, participates, from May 28 to 31, 2019, in Hamilton, Bermuda, to the 10th biennial conference of the Caribbean Association of Ombudsmen (CAROA) which focuses on the main theme : "Strengthening the role and performance of the Ombudsman and Human Rights Institutions in the Caribbean and Latin America".

PNH : Support for 60 women from disadvantaged neighborhoods

In partnership with the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and UN Women Haiti, Minujusth supported the training of 60 women from underprivileged neighborhoods, candidates for the competition of the 31st promotion of the PNH, to support the increase of the number women in the institution.
