Haiti - PNH : High level meeting in anticipation of the general mobilization

Thursday, in anticipation of the call for the general mobilization launched for Sunday 9 June on the whole territory, Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), chaired a high-level meeting with the departmental directors and the heads of the various specialized units.

It has been questions of new strategies to guarantee a climate of security in the country in general and in the departments of the West and the Artibonite in particular.

Gédéon has given instructions to the Departmental Directors to ensure the good behavior of the police officers who will be deployed in the field.

The safety and protection of the lives and property of citizens without distinction of any kind is the first recommendation made to the police. In addition, Gédéon demands that the safety of all individuals, whether they be demonstrators or not, including that of public and private companies, be the priority of the police and advises the agents to not use excessive force.
