Haiti - Education : Aggressive claims at the Ministry of National Education

Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education expresses his deepest concern about "the deleterious and aggressive climate" that has been developing for two days in several of its annexes (Nazon, Babiole, Ave Jean Paul 2 and Duncombe Street etc...) as a result of a movement of demands by agents claiming to be from the two unions of Ministry staff.

Minister Cadet points out that "the Ministry has not received any notification from the unions for any strike action or any other reason that may explain these abrupt and aggressive actions that affect the operation of the offices".

Cadet deplores these unilateral acts to a little more than two weeks from the beginning of the period of State exams https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27862-haiti-education-state-examinations-following-of-preparations-and-schedule.html . Recalling to those concerned that parents have made enormous sacrifices for the education of their children, despite the socio-economic crisis, that it is the duty of the State and all the actors to fulfill their obligations to accompany the students who will undergo the official tests.

While recognizing the right of any officer to assert his claims, the Minister considers that there are mechanisms to discuss disputes that may arise in the management of human resources or any other request related to the specifications of unions and invites the agents at the base of the movement to pull themselves together and resume the path of dialogue always open to address the problems that affect the proper functioning of the sector and the motivation of employees.
