Barricades of burning tires were erected on several arteries (Sarthe, Carrefour Vincent, national road #1 among others) and the road to the international airport of Port-au-Prince was blocked with a car carcass at the boulevard Toussaint louverture.

Groups of a hundred demonstrators spread panic in the streets of the capital and in Delmas causing the premature closure of several businesses that had courageously resumed their activities early in the morning.

At the Champ-de-Mars, the police used tear gas to fight stones and disperse protesters

In Pétion-ville, when activities seemed to have resumed their normal course, around 11:00 am a panic blew over the commi,e when loud bangs were heard at Panamerican Street and in the Royal Oasis hotel zone, the police making heavy use of tear gas canisters to try to disperse a spontaneous manifestation taking shape, causing panic among parents who would rush to pick up their children at school while small traders rushed as best they could to save their goods and leave the place and that several businesses lowered their iron curtain. Heavy gunshots was heard in several areas of the commune.

The highly motivated demonstrators demanded the release of Jean Robert Vincent, a leader of the opposition arrested and detained at the Pétion-ville police station. They threw stones and bottles at the Peace Tribunal, which they threatened to burn if they did not get satisfaction.

A Liberation they would have finally obtained after the intervention of lawyers sent by the radical opposition sector called "democratic and popular" according to several sources, information however not officially confirmed by the police.
