8,494 soldiers guard the Dominican border

According to General Guerrero Clase, Commander of Border Security, the 391 kilometers of border that separates the Dominican Republic from the Republic Haiti are defended on the Dominican side, by 8,494 soldiers divided into three brigades of infantry, six battalions, 21 companies, 35 detachments, 68 guard posts and between 15 and 20 fixed checkpoints.
