Haiti - Diaspora : Celebration of Caribbean Heritage Month

The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in Washington, D.C., is pleased to announce its participation in the 10th Annual Caribbean Heritage Month Celebration (June 27 to 30, 2019 co-hosted with Haiti Renewal Alliance and Karib Nation. This collaboration is part of the Embassy’s larger mission to strengthen relations with the Caribbean community, promote economic investment and women empowerment, reconnect with influential women in the nation’s capital, and highlight Haiti’s rich culture and ingenuity.

For the occasion, the First Lady of the Republic of Haiti, Her Excellency, Mrs. Martine Étienne Joseph Moïse will visit Washington, DC and participate in an array of events https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-27961-icihaiti-diaspora-10th-annual-caribbean-heritage-month-festival-celebration-registrations-open.html ranging from an Embassy Cultural Reception, a private residential luncheon of influential women in the area, including women of Haitian descent in the arts and entrepreneurship

A visit to the Smithsonian Institution, a Caribbean Awards and Fashion Showcase, a Women’s Empowerment Brunch and a Caribbean music and art festival. The celebratory gatherings will also feature Her Excellency Sandra Granger, the First Lady of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

During her official visit, First Lady Martine Moïse will launch the Embassy’s newest art exhibit exclusively curated by the Diaspora and will also honor the Embassy Chef Challenge 2019 People’s Choice Award Winner, Haitian-American Chef Dimitri Lilavois.

The Embassy is looking forward to welcoming the First Lady for a visit around economic investment, women entrepreneurship while highlighting the wealth of Haiti’s culture through its gastronomy, music, fashion and art during this honorable occasion.
