Haiti - USA : Border Patrols Arrest 204 Haitian Illegal Migrants in Texas

According to border authorities in Del Rio, Texas, border police patrols intercepted and arrested two groups of undocumented migrants, one of 105 and the second of 205 people.

In the first group arrested on 22 June 2019, 82 (78%) of the 105 irregular migrants were of Haitian origin and 23 were from South America and Africa.

The second group arrested on June 24 included 205 people, 122 (59%) of whom were from Haiti.

Since the beginning of the year "Border police officers in the Del Rio area have arrested people from more than 45 countries," said Raul L. Ortiz, chief of the Del Rio sector patrol adding "Our officers, with the help of our partners in the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), continue to face each new challenge as the ongoing humanitarian crisis unfolds."
