Explosive situation in Haiti according to the UN

In a report to the Security Council in May 2019 that was made public Wednesday, July 17, Antonio Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General, said that Haiti was facing a potentially explosive situation underlining that political, economic and the situation is only getting worse and calls on the actors concerned to work towards the establishment of a new Government.

More than 20 dead in La Saline in 9 days

In its report published Thursday on the violence in La Saline, the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) indicates that "from 5 to 13 July 2019, no less than 20 people lost their lives in La Saline, two are missing and six others were shot. [...]"

4th diaspora summit postponed

Serious accident to Fonds Palmiste

Thursday morning in the locality Fonds Palmiste (St. Louis du Sud), a public transport vehicle "God who decides" hit a motorcycle taxi. Three people were killed (including the motorcycle taxi driver and a three-year-old girl who was a transit passenger) and several other injured passengers, some of them seriously, who were rushed to the hospital.

VISA : IOM-Brazil agreement renewed

Thursday marks the fourth renewal of the IOM-Brazil Agreement for the Visa Application Center in Port-au-Prince.
