Haiti - Weather : Forecast for the month of September 2019

The month of September is on average the most active month of the hurricane season and, in 7 days (ie the 10th of September), we will reach its peak. Updated weather forecasts indicating an active season in the North Atlantic basin but not too dangerous for Haiti, so far.

We still have 3 months left and we expect these months to be much more active than the first half of the season. This, because of the favorable conditions that we have now in the Atlantic and for the absence of the El Niño phenomenon.

In addition to Hurricane Dorian (which avoided Haiti), we now have a new tropical wave that is near the Cape Verde Islands. This system is expected to progress to the open waters of the Atlantic and become the next tropical cyclone of the season (90% chance of becoming a hurricane in the next 48 hours). It does not represent, for the moment, a threat to the islands of the Caribbean, so for now no danger for Haiti.

In addition, we have an area to watch in the Gulf of Mexico, which has 100% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone and will move to Mexico. And finally, we have another area on the open waters of the Atlantic with 40% chance for development and at this time, Bermuda Island is the area that should follow this system.
