Haiti - FLASH : Incidents in the Senate, the PNH did what it was ordered to do

Thursday, the day after the sacking and violence in the Senate by the Senators of the radical opposition and armed individuals qualified activists by the opposition https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28727-haiti-flash-the-senate-stormed-and-ransacked-by-armed-militants-of-the-opposition.html , the Commissioner Michel Ange Louis Jeune, spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) asserts that as part of the mission entrusted to him, the police did "exactly" what he was ordered to do.

The PNH spokesman said that the PNH was given the mission to ensure the security of the siding outside and facilitate access to elected officials and their delegations (the ratification session being public).

Regarding the presence of armed individuals invading Parliament, he first states that these individuals did not forcibly invade Parliament, but were accompanied by Senators, explaining that parliamentarians told the police when they were admitted to the yard of Parliament, that the passengers accompanying them were part of their delegation.

Michel Ange Louis Jeune emphasizes that the police had received no order to control the vehicles of the elected officials and their passengers and did not know if these people were armed or not...

As for what happened in the Senate, he relieves the police of any responsibility that says "[...] the police had no mandate to provide security inside Parliament..."
