Haiti - Technology : The International Port of Cap Haitien joined the Octopi TOS system

Navis Operational and Technological Service Provider that is part of Cargotec, the owner of the Octopi TOS operating system, for Small Container and Mixed Freight terminals based on delocalized storage (Cloud), announces that the International Port of Haitian Cap , operated by the Cap Terminal SA (CTSA) in Haiti, joined the Octopi TOS system

The port of Cap Haitien has moved away from the traditional spreadsheet and pencil system to a cloud-based system that can process information in real time, enabling it to increase the speed and efficiency of its day-to-day operations. Navis explained, "The port, which has an average of 20.5 vessel movements per hour, was challenged by the lack of accurate and up-to-date data, both internally and externally, due to manual processing."

With Octopi TOS set up in 3 months "the Port can now replace manual functions, such as inventory tracking and individual mapping, to ensure the most accurate and up-to-date data and a perfect customer experience [...] Transfer a paper-based terminal to a modern cloud-based TOS, while maintaining operational readiness has been a complex process," said Martin Bardi, Octopi's Vice President of Global Sales.

The Cap-Haïtien Gate, located on the northeast coast of Haiti, operates the only full-service terminal in Cape Town, with 28,000 20-foot containers serving the CMA CGM, Antillean Marine Shipping Corp and King Ocean Services companies.
