Haiti - Politic : The health sector victim of insecurity launches a cry of alarm

The Haitian Medical Association (AMH) launches a cry of alarm faced the climate of instability, of insecurity and violence in which have been living for several weeks in general all sectors of national life and which strikes in particular the health sector...

In a note, the AMH claims to be "indignated at the lack of respect for life, the fundamental right of every human being. It is revolted at the impossibility for health professionals, in the current circumstances, to fulfill their mission to care properly, to relieve the suffering of patients [...]

The Haitian Medical Association strongly denounces the attacks against institutions and health professionals including the Haitian Foundation for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases (FHADIMAC) and ambulance service personnel.

Faced with rising insecurity, which is causing more and more victims and restricting the freedom of movement of the population, another fundamental human right, the AMH asks the authorities concerned to assume their responsibilities and calls for the citizen awareness and mobilization of the women and men of this country for a quick exit from this unacceptable situation [...]"
