Haiti - NOTICE : Drinking water distribution, compromised by the demonstrations

The National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), informs the population that it is currently experiencing difficulties to maintain the operation of its entire drinking water distribution service.

In fact, the blocked roads and the demonstrations among others interfering the suppliers who regularly supply DINEPA with diesel fuel, refuse to move because of the risks, which prevents DINEPA from keeping in operation its powerful generator (120- 800 Kw) that supply energy to the stations and pumps that supply drinking water to part of its network.

As a result, DINEPA is currently distributing drinking water to its customers, only through gravity-fed networks that do not need energy to operate...

DINEPA counts on the understanding of its customers and assures it, that it does everything so that the distribution resumes normally as soon as possible, on all of its network
