In these two communities, public transit and automobiles circulated in large numbers. The small merchants had returned to their place on the sidewalks and street vendors were busy selling their goods, while many businesses had reopened.

Public institutions worked, but there were many public servants in their posts. Schools remained closed.

In some parts of the metropolitan area there were no barricades on fire and relative calm prevailed, but activities were slow to resume. Businesses and banks operated timidly, caution and uncertainty remained visible among traders, residents, customers and passers-by ...

In other neighborhoods the tension persisted especially in the Martissant area where sporadic shots of automatic weapons were heard.

At the level of Lathan and Lizondes barricades of rocks and branches blocked the circulation. In Nazon the traffic was difficult because barricades were not cleared from the roadway. On the RN1 reported some inflamed tires.

The police presence was very visible and the patrols numerous everywhere.

Several demonstrations have been reported across the country including Petit-Goâve.

In the early evening in the bicentennial area, individuals shot dead a Pilate base member and wounded two innocent students who were in the wrong place, one of them fatally...
