Haiti - Army : The Corps of Military Engineers to the rescue of the population

The military engineering corps of the new Haitian Army Force (FAd'H), alongside the Haitian people, public works technicians, the National Solid Waste Management Service and the National Police of Haiti (PNH), on the orders of the Ministry of Defense, in accordance with their mission to accompany the population, multiply actions to facilitate the movement of citizens throughout the national territory.

The Corps of Military Engineering, is currently involved in a major operation in the metropolitan area, to free the streets blocked by barricades and collect tons of garbage and debris of all kinds that accumulate for several weeks in the streets making travel very difficult and unhealthy for residents.

Eddy Jackson Alexis, the Secretary of State for Communication asks the population "to continue to support the military whose actions already allow many citizens prisoners in their neighborhoods and their homes, to freely go about their business in several municipalities of the metropolitan area."

For his part, President Jovenel Moïse recalls that the free movement of people and goods is a principle established in the Constitution and by international conventions to which Haiti is a signatory.

Secretary of State Alexis stressed the urgent need for all actors in national life to respect these principles and to avoid any form of violation of individual freedoms.
