DIGICEL : Sabotage of a major optical fiber

A dead and several Haitians wounded on a DR worksite

Tuesday evening, three workers, including a Haitian citizen (Walson Licel, aged 22), were killed in an explosion in a building under construction in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The tragedy, which also left four wounded, some of whom are Haitian nationals, occurred when the workers used a flammable product to paint the tank of a tower under construction in the Evaristo Morales sector. The burned workers were transported to the burn unit at the Ney Arias Lora Trauma Hospital.
