Haiti - Justice : 3 arrests related to the crash of the illegal plane in Saint-Jean du Sud

Saturday, following the forced landing in the 3rd communal section of Saint-Jean-du-Sud of a mysterious aircraft, registered "XB-PYB", which was not in contact with the air traffic controllers in Haiti hhttps://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29345-haiti-flash-a-mysterious-plane-lands-in-disaster-in-st-jean-du-sud.html , the police authorities proceeded on the same day to 8:00 pm to the arrest of 3 individuals in connection with this mysterious plane : 2 Mexicans and a Haitian.

What we know so far, according to Me Ronald Richemond, the Commissioner of the Government of Les Cayes, the 3 men arrested at Catagena Avenue in Les Cayes have been identified as Vargas Flores Andres (42 years) and Villeda Avila Juan Jose (37) years), the two pilots of the plane and a Haitian taxi-motorcycle driver Jimmy Archil.

Commissioner Richemond explained that, according to the statements of the two Mexican pilots, they had taken off from Belize to Venezuela to recover a shipment of narcotics for delivery to Guatemala. As the plane was halfway through the left engine of the plane broke down and forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in Haiti, the nearest place on the smugglers' road.

However, this version is contradicted by several testimonies claiming that something was landed and taken in an unidentified car before the arrival of the agents of the Anti-Trafficking Brigade (BLTS). The popular rumor being what it is, it is better to avoid speculation and wait for the official version of the National Police of Haiti, which should soon provide more details on this incident...
