Haiti - FLASH : UN forces could intervene again in Haiti

This week was held a Forum entitled "Destabilization of Haiti : Issues and challenges" organized by Ito Bisonó, President of the Center for Analysis of Public Policies, which was attended by representatives of accredited diplomatic missions held at the Catholic University PUCMM in Santiago, Dominican Republic

During this forum to discuss the Haitian political and social crisis, Edmond Mulet, the former United Nations Chief of Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (Minustah) as a guest speaker at the forum, expressed concern about the political and social crisis that Haiti is experiencing, and estimated that "[...] the current situation could encourage a new intervention by the United Nations." a possibility that the former head of the Minustah does not rule out, if the Haitian crisis worsens.

He warned that the "convulsive situation" in Haiti, represented not only a threat to the Dominican Republic, but for the entire Caribbean region. Concerns reached by national sectors.

He took the opportunity to make an urgent appeal to the international community to take immediate action to alleviate the problem of famine and broken institutions in Haiti.
