Haiti - Politic : Meeting at the National Palace on the state of the agricultural sector

Tuesday, December 3 at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse, met with directors of Communals Agricultural Offices (BACs) to discuss the state of the agricultural sector in the country.

At this meeting it was discussed: State responsibility for agriculture; provisions to identify the land to be irrigated; credits for farmers; establishment of institutions to revitalize the sector; breeding incentive programs; sharing of skills and materials between State offices in the communes; provisions to train farmers, raise problems of availability of seeds, fertilizers and other inputs and the fight against drought and erosion among others..

During the discussions, the Directors of BAC also addressed their complaints and suggestions on : the problems of the Communals Agricultural Offices, the projects to be carried out and the actions to be undertaken to try to provide elements of solution allowing the communal agricultural structures to operate and provide the services.
