PNH arrest a Canadian Citizen at Airport

On Wednesday at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport, the Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested Richard Joseph Levesque, a Canadian citizen. The latter was apprehended aboard an "Air Transat" flight from Canada. He is a dangerous criminal, a member of the Hells Angels, an influential criminal organization in Quebec under Interpol's mandate.

A Kenyan businessman interested in Haiti

Launch of a Municipal Development Project

Wednesday in Cap-Haïtien, took place the launch of the Municipal Development and Urban Resilience Project (MDUR). This Haitian State project, financed by the World Bank, will be implemented by the Technical Unit of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities. The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) will act as Delegated Project Owner for Component 2.1 The MDUR Project aims to : strengthen municipal capacity to better manage land use and urban expansion, strengthen the capacity of local governments to provide basic infrastructure and services, strengthen urban resilience by reducing the risks associated with floods and climate change impacts. The municipalities and areas concerned by this project are: Limonade, Quartier Morin, Plaine du Nord, Acul du Nord and Milot.

Climate change and the marine environment in Haiti

Wednesday, was held at the Pavilion Caricom, an event of the Ministry of Environment of Haiti around the theme "Climate change and marine environment in Haiti" After the screening of the documentary "Thus Spoke the Sea" (Ainsi parla la mer) in the presence of Minsiter Jouthe, the audience followed a presentation on the situation of the marine environment in Haiti with Dr. Kenel Délusca. Despite the 11 marine protected areas of Haiti, D. Kenel explained that the country's marine environment is very affected by climate change and encouraged actors to support Haiti's adaptation initiatives.
