Saturday afternoon, police officers from the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) wearing hoods came to the home of Dimitri Vorbe, Member of the Boardof Société Générale d'Energie S.A. (SOGENER) and political opponent of President Moïse and at the residence of Elizabeth Débrosse Préval, shareholder of Sogener, both subject to a mandate to bring in the State case against Sogener https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29381-haiti-flash-the-prosecutor-s-office-issues-warrants-to-bring-in-the-case-state-against-sogener.html

At the Residence of the widow of President Préval, without being accompanied by a justice of the peace, the police identifying of the DCPJ, asked to enter to execute the warrant, which was refused by the agents security of Mrs. Préval. At the same time, other DCPJ police also wearing hoods tried unsuccessfully to arrest Dimitri Vorbe at his home.

Me Jean Danton Léger, one of the lawyers for Sogener, explained that these agents had asked their client to go to the DCPJ without taking into account the legal opposition which had been made, stressing that the DCPJ obviously did not comply with "the Dean's stay order in the Sogener case […] as a lawyer a stay in the case implies a stay on everything concerning this case since the arrest warrants have been awarded in the Sogener case."

In view of these two attempts to execute a warrant to bring in the case between Sogener and the State despite the stay of the Dean of the Tribunal, the lawyers of the Sogener intend to meet without delay to decide on legal measures to be implemented to ensure that the arrest warrants will not be executed and will comply with the stay order.

The judicial Saga between the Haitian State and the Société Générale d'Energie S.A. (SOGENER) continues. Recall that in the last episode, the lawyers of the Government filed a request for recusation of all the judges of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince (TPI) because of legitimate suspicion, in order to prevent the lawyers of the Sogener to overrule the decisions of the Public Prosecutor's Office https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29381-haiti-flash-the-prosecutor-s-office-issues-warrants-to-bring-in-the-case-state-against-sogener.html . Following this request, the Dean of the TPI Me Bernard Saint-Vil declared itself incompetent to rule on the admissibility or the inadmissibility of the request for mass recusation of all the judges of the TPI, and decided to defer the case before the Court of Cassation which will decide in the next episode.

Meanwhile, Jean Marie Vorbe, owner of SOGENER continues its offensive in a correspondence addressed to Mrs. Jocelyne Colas Noel, President of the Organization Together against Corruption. The opportunity for Vorbes to make a detailed summary of the previous episodes and to denounce "[...] publicly the unfair, illegal and arbitrary maneuvers used by Mr. Jovenel Moïse jeopardizing its heavy investments and creating very serious damage to the image its leaders by the instrumentalisation and the precariousness of the judicial system with the sole objective of satisfying his personal interests and those of his relatives [...]"

A letter of which he has sent a copy in conformity with the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) to the different Chambers of Commerce, the Professional Association of Banks but also to the commercial sections of the Embassies of the United States, Canada, France, Germany and Spain as well as the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the highest religious authorities and various influential organizations and human rights...
